International Open Call for Visual Artists

Artsin Square is pleased to announce the first edition of the Artsin Square Art Prize, an international open call created to recognize and support contemporary visual artists from around the world.

One artist will receive a $1,000 USD cash prize, a feature in the print edition of Artsin Square magazine, an interview published on the Artsin Square website, and a permanent artist feature on the website. The winner’s work will also be promoted through our newsletter and social media platforms.

Artists at all stages of their careers are invited to apply. There is no specific theme, allowing applicants to submit work that best represents their current artistic practice.

Application Details

Eligible Artists

  • Visual artists aged 18 and over from any country are eligible to apply

  • Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are welcome

  • Artists may submit works in any visual medium, including painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, textile, installation, collage, digital art, and mixed media

  • Artist collectives may apply as one applicant

  • Galleries and art organizations may submit work on behalf of an artist with the artist’s permission

Requirements

  • Artists may submit 3 to 10 individual artworks. jpeg and no bigger than 5MB

  • Artwork images must be uploaded directly through the application form

  • An artist biography of up to 250 words is optional.

  • There is no specific theme for this open call

Important Dates

  • Deadline: October 10, 2026

  • Finalists and Winner Announced: Last week of October 2026

  • All applicants will receive the final results by email

Winner and Shortlisted Artists

One artist will receive:

  • A one-time $1,000 USD cash prize

  • A feature in the print edition of Artsin Square magazine

  • An interview published on the Artsin Square website

  • A permanent artist feature on the Artsin Square website

  • Promotion through the Artsin Square newsletter and social media platforms

The cash prize will be paid following the announcement of the winner.

In addition to the winner, up to 3 shortlisted artists will be featured in a dedicated online presentation on the Artsin Square website and promoted through our social media platforms. No additional fee will be requested from the winner or shortlisted artists.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by the Artsin Square selection committee.

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Artistic and conceptual strength

  • Originality

  • Quality and consistency of the submitted work

  • Development of the artist’s individual practice

The decision of the selection committee is final.

Submission Fee

$30 for up to 3 images (non-refundable)

Agreement and Copyright

By submitting to this call, the artist grants Artsin Square permission, if selected as the winner or a shortlisted artist, to use the submitted images in connection with the Artsin Square Art Prize, including in its print magazine, on its website, in artist interviews, and through its newsletter and social media platforms.
