CHEN WEI TING

From Tainan, Taiwan, holds a Master’s degree in Global Art Practice from Tokyo University of the Arts. Influenced by his childhood love for picture books, he constructs a poetic realm through his art, where writing and poetry serve as integral elements of his creative practice. His works, predominantly in acrylic and oil pastels, are paired with poems that navigate the interplay between childhood and adulthood. Chen has showcased his art internationally, including in New York, Hong Kong, Spain, Dubai, Thailand, and Japan. His accolades include the Shibuya Awards (2021 Grand Prize, 2023 Tomio Koyama Jury Prize) and recognition from the Ueno Royal Museum Grand Prize (Selected Work). He has received support from the Tokyo Arts Council and was selected by the CAF Award 2022. His pieces are part of collections at the Lih Pao Cultural Arts Foundation and Dali Art Park in Taichung. Currently based in Tokyo, he continues his artistic endeavors.
