I'm a printmaking artist interested in awkward social situations such as crowds and elevator dynamics. However, I also pair these spacial experiences with objective rather than affective/ subjective measures such as gaps between objects and bodies, temperature and shape. These aspects are mirrored in colors, negative space and positive space. My wodcuts have much in common with 3-dimensional work and sculpturing and I never prepare my woodblocks with paper drafts or ready made shapes. My woodcuts display the real-life figure and invite the viewer to participate. These prints should give a feeling of massiveness and integration in relation to the own person. I studied at Academy of Fine Art in Vienna painting and Art Education but always had a greater interest in graphic art and sculpturing. I also obtained a MS degree on Social Psychology and therefore I consider the integrative aspect that art has on the viewer as imperative. I see myself as an artist to free woodcut of the aspect of skill and technique and instead transfer it into the context of space and environment, where it traditionally came from in the form of tapestry in the 18th century in France.
