Dallas Athent
Dallas Athent was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 6, causing her to test her blood sugars ten times a day in addition to taking several injections--a routine which consists of physical probing and subsequent regulation in order to slow her eventual demise. These rituals have caused her to grasp the truth of her own mortality which has spilled into her art practice where she explores the history of European rooms and architecture, and how spaces have been reimagined in paintings overtime to achieve an everlasting presence.
