Grace Weidner
Born in New York and currently living in California, Grace Weidner is currently working to complete a BFA in painting at Rhode Island School of Design. Throughout the development of her practice she aims to capture the microcosmic yet unifying anxieties that lie within relationships and power dynamics. Playing into tropes of the heteronormative and male dominated romantic ideals throughout the 20th and 21st century the aim is to subvert and criticize with themes of a more psychological and repressed reality of abuse and struggle. In order to communicate a more internal narrative the portrait is utilized to convey the complexities of love in late stage capitalistic individualism.
