All is exoteric still esoteric. (All is clear but obscure)
A substance in front of me is clearly one but there are many different ways to look at it. So many different perspectives. The advent of communication tools such as SNS is accelerating the distractions. People are exposed to political, social, or cultural dynamics thorough highly developed network. Here, it's been distorting the reality and makes harder to find the essentiality.
My work is an examination of the recent phenomenon. In early works, I erased the faces with white painting to express their obscureness. The faces are a bit grotesque which makes them psychedelic and dreamy. And I applied mother-of-pearl colors to add more fantasy.
Now, hologram has taken over some parts of my paintings. The clear colors of paints are not suitable to show all the multiple, subjective and chaotic recent "Nature Confusion." Hologram catches the lights along the observer's eyes. The changing colors are observer-based and totally subjective, which enable me to take the volatility from the cyber place and locate it on the middle of the canvas.
Still, I remained a piece of highly realistic painting. So my artworks feature some really impressive mix of painting and hologram. Combining them is a way of questioning what the reality is. The examination for Real and Virtual, Clear and Obscure, Volatile and Stable using opulent yet uncanny image.
