Jordan Holms

Jordan Holms is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in painting and textiles. Her practice considers how aesthetic ‘tastes’ are materialized, organized, and made to mean. Mining imagery that she encounters online and in the everyday, Holms's work interprets the things we find in our homes and out in the built environment that signal something about how taste produces meaning. In order to arrive at more nuanced understandings of historical and cultural tastes, she translates the associative properties of her source materials–their colors, shapes, and textures–into abstract forms.

Holms has exhibited in the US, the UK, and Canada, and her work is held in multiple private collections. She has participated in several solo exhibitions at Marrow Gallery (2018; 2020), and group exhibitions at Voss Gallery (2023), the de Young Museum (2020), and SFMOMA Artists Gallery (2019). She has attended residencies at the Vermont Studio Center (2020) and the Icelandic Textile Center (2022). Holms earned a Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2019. She lives and works in London, UK.
