Tochukwu Orazulike
nzikọrịta ozi (communication) Is a native word from Eastern Nigeria which has evolved through civilization, while tracing from the ancient means of communication down to the modern way. this collection emphasizes on “NSIBIDI” an ancient system of graphic communication used by neighboring Ibibio, Efik and Igbo people and indigenous to the Ejagham people of southeastern Nigeria. Nsibidi spread throughout the region and was adopted by other cultures and art but was drastically reduced after the introduction of Western education. This painting collection is designed to create an enlightenment between the old and modern way of communication with the use of these ancient symbols merged with modern activities.
