Lucia Simone

Dystopian reality is replacing everyday reality: we are witnessing an eclipse of human consciousness.

For this reason, in my works I always try to pay attention to the loneliness of the human soul and the beauty of small things. Diversities are points of observation to be able to read the world and the little things remind us where happiness resides.

I use conceptual references related to my adolescence, such as music albums or everyday objects such as polaroids to remember those moral principles for which we have fought. Hoping that they will not be forgotten by the vulgarity of consumerist and consummate thought.

Each artistic medium has a particular expressive potential, which is why I use many techniques. The Indian ink, in fact, allows me to create nocturnal settings in a completely spontaneous way, thus increasing further relationships with the musical world.

Specifically, the work Insomnia Condivisa talks about the isolation caused by the anti-covid quarantine, but the phone call takes place between two different eras, between past and present.

I do not set myself technical limits and I see art as a means to grasp the resonances hidden in the folds of reality. I pay attention to those coincidences that give the illusion of being in the right place.
