Noor Bseiso
Noor Bseiso, a Palestinian Jordanian visual artist, creates life-size scenes using acrylic on canvas. Creating a playful yet grotesque style, Bseiso's work delves into political and social themes specific to the SWANA region, tackling subjects such as imperialism, patriarchy, and capitalism.
Currently residing in Amman, Jordan, Bseiso graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in 2016. Bseiso’s works have graced prestigious venues, including the Javits Centre in the group show “Cross-Cultural Dialogue Sino-American Art Exhibition,” and were featured in the 20/20 publication curated by Daniel S. Palmer. Bseiso also joined a notable exhibition at Eric Firestone Gallery hosted by ArtCritical Magazine, sharing the space with accomplished artists like Andrew Ginzel.
Recently, Bseiso showcased her art in diverse group exhibitions across New York City, such as "Summer In The City" at Pleiades Gallery, "Art From The Pandemic" at 6ftap’ArtShow, and "Paroxysm" at WestBeth Gallery. She also exhibited internationally, contributing to shows like "My Red Your Blue" at Sungkok Art Museum in Korea and "Time Traveling" at AbulHonda Gallery in Jordan. Notably, Bseiso is set to complete a 10-month residency at MMAG Foundation in Amman.
Bseiso's visual aesthetics, as well as structures, are profoundly shaped by her background as a Set Designer. Among her noteworthy sets are those for Mina Mir’s “All Tru-ish,” officially selected by the Cairo Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival, and her Art Direction for Dominica Garcia’s short film “Ceviche,” which premiered at the New York Latino Film Festival and the Atlanta Film Festival, among others.
